Paddling for Pudsey
19/11/18
You may have struggled to reach us on Friday afternoon, 16th November and that was because the Naked team donned their 'best' (?!) fancy dress and headed to Norwich for a ‘Pudsey Paddle’ - the annual Children in Need fundraising event by Whitlingham Adventure.
Making up the Paddle-do-nicely rowing team were: Sleepy, Bashful, Happy, Grumpy, Doc and Dopey. (We're not sure what happened to Sneezy... or Snow White for that matter). Competing against eight other well-dressed teams, and fuelled by hot drinks and tasty cakes, we took part in two time trials. The second of the two was, once we’d mastered the dark art of steering the twin-hulled canoe, much more successful than the first, which saw us doing more of a slalom than a straight line!
For a rather hopeless rowing collective we managed a very respectable fourth, meaning we just missed out on a place in the final (shame, more tea and cake please!). However, our final position was not the story of the day, nor was the fact that we lost the fancy dress award, but that a very enjoyable afternoon team building was had and, more importantly, that over £350 raised for Children in Need.
We're already looking forward to next year.
