Bronze Carbon Charter Award

Bronze Carbon Charter Award

By Dan Bradfield

Bronze Carbon Charter Award

We are thrilled to announce that we have been awarded the Bronze Carbon Charter Award, marking a significant milestone in our journey towards net zero and is a symbol of our dedication to reducing the environmental impact of our business operations.

Joining the Carbon Charter is a clear and visible statement of our commitment to sustainability. This award reflects our proactive efforts to develop and implement a carbon reduction plan. Achieving a very high bronze score shows the substantial progress we have already made and sets a strong foundation for the future.

To progress to the silver level, the Carbon Charter would like to see more sustainability-related content and for us to further position ourselves towards net zero. We are excited to embrace this challenge and have made it a key objective for the coming year.

Our Carbon Reduction Plan

As part of our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint by at least 10% before 2026, we have outlined our carbon reduction plan. This plan includes:

  • Measuring and monitoring energy use: We will measure and monitor our onsite energy use and investigate ways to reduce it.

  • Reducing vehicle emissions: We will explore partnerships with logistics providers committed to sustainable practices and how to use fewer petrol/diesel vehicles.

  • Increasing staff awareness: We will work to increase staff awareness of energy-saving practices and encourage their active participation.

  • Improving waste management: We will reduce waste and continually evaluate our recycling processes.

  • Developing a realistic net zero strategy: Our team will evaluate our Net Zero strategy, setting interim targets to forecast and achieve emission reductions.

  • Engaging managers and staff: We will ensure that all managers and staff are kept informed about our environmental policy and emissions reduction targets.

  • Implementing further actions: We will deliver on additional actions specified in our Carbon Reduction Action Plan.
We recognise that achieving our sustainability goals is a collaborative effort. We will work closely with our suppliers and contractors, in our commitment to continual environmental improvement.

We are proud of the progress we have made and are committed to driving further environmental improvements.
