YANA – You Are Not Alone – is our name. We started 12 years ago and now provide a much-respected source of advice and support to improve the mental health of people working in rural businesses. Our purpose is suicide prevention in the rural community through building understanding of mental health, investing in mental health first aid training and providing confidential support and counselling.
What do we love about Norfolk? We love living and working under our big Norfolk skies. But we’re well aware that many in farming and other rural professions in our county can feel weighed down by worries. That’s what we’re here to help with. Our website is brimming with practical steps to improve mental health for yourself or to help you help a friend, colleague or family member you are concerned about.
2020 has been a big year for YANA: our refreshed logo and reinvigorated website is enabling us to be seen, heard and remembered. We’ve made lorry and window stickers, pin buttons and badges, leaflets and Seven Tractor Facts to Save a Life suicide prevention cards.
We could dazzle you with data of what we’ve printed and delivered, talked and lobbied about, written and presented. We must mention our wonderful volunteers and our fundraisers who have bowled, baked, driven, run, walked, swum, sung and more to raise funds for YANA this year. Everything we do - now in winter and all year round - is led by a crystal-clear guiding star: the difference we can make where and when it matters most.
Why not give YANA a follow on the old social media...
