The Feed is a social enterprise based on Prince of Wales Road in Norwich tackling poverty, hunger and homelessness in the city. The people it works with are dealing with those issues or other challenges like mental health problems or addiction.
By providing work experience, training and support in The Feed's café and catering operation they help people into the workplace and on a path to a brighter future.
This year The Feed has stepped up in many new ways to help people through the pandemic:
- Over 4,500 lunch bags distributed to vulnerable people across the city during lockdown.
- Opening a Community Fridge in August which has provided more than 4000kg of food, including fruit, vegetable, tins and fresh meals they’ve cooked, to over 1,000 people.
- Making over 350 phone calls in the first lockdown to keep in touch and provide support to people.
For Christmas, The Feed has two great festive food options.
The hampers are available in three sizes and each one will be packed full of great Norfolk food products.
You may want to buy these to give to your clients, to reward staff (maybe instead of a Christmas meal) or as a present for friends and family.
For each hamper you buy The Feed will provide a hamper of essential food items plus some treats to someone local who might otherwise go without.
Mince Pies with Meaning
As well as being a Christmas favourite, the mince pies have a deeper meaning as the money raised from sales are a valuable fundraiser for us. They are available in boxes of six for £3.75 and each box includes a voucher for a free hot drink in our café.
This year there's an option for you to buy some which we will then distribute to people who couldn't afford their own. It's a festive take on the 'pay it forward' concept.
The mince pies will all be hand made at The Feed's café and people they support will help to make them.
